Two independent Pianos and Sample Synths

The Nord Piano 5 has two separate Layers in both the Sample Synth and Piano parts. There are numerous split or layer combinations that allow for the simultaneous use of the two pianos and two sample synths. Rich soundscapes and traditional ensemble settings are only two examples of the many permutations that may be made when combined with the flexible effects routing.

Virtual Hammer Action Technology

Their exclusive Virtual Hammer Action Technology, when combined with the real hammer movements, produces a keyboard action that can handle dynamic playing with remarkable control at any velocity level. It also offers exceptional authenticity and dynamic response.

Advanced String Resonance

When the pedal is pressed, their distinctive Advanced String Resonance delivers the rich ambiance of a real piano in addition to faithfully capturing the intricate interplay of the piano strings

Dynamic PedalNoise and Nord Triple Pedal

The Nord Triple Pedal has a special Dynamic Sustain Pedal in addition to Soft and Sostenuto Pedals. Our Pedal Noise function, which dynamically mimics the sounds of lifting and releasing the damper mechanism, is also enabled by the Triple Pedal.

Sample Synth Section

With significantly more memory available for the sounds in the Nord Sample Library, two brand-new standalone sample synths are available.

The Nord Sample Library’s premium sounds, including specially licensed sounds from the illustrious Mellotron and Chamberlin, have been entirely recreated for the Sample Synth Section. Additionally, a selection of samples from ProjectSAM’s Symphobia and Swing! libraries are included. The Nord Sound Manager makes it easy to swap out any sound.

The Sample Synth part has two distinct, fully functional Layers with settings for attack, decay/release, and dynamic velocity response that are easy to use. With the special Nord Sample Editor program, which is available for free on Mac and Windows, you may even make your own sample instruments.

Unison and Tru-Vibrato

A brand-new function in the Sample Synth Section called Unison skillfully combines many sample voices to produce rich, ensemble-like tones. Additionally, it has a “Tru-Vibrato” that faithfully simulates the distinct vibrato qualities of a large range of brass, string, and wind instruments.

Effect Section

A large range of easily adjustable, high-quality stereo effects modeled like vintage stomp boxes may be found in the Effect area. Any layer in the Piano and Sample Synth section can have an effect freely assigned to it.

Tremolo, Phaser, Chorus, Pan, Wah, RM, Flanger, Vibe, EQ, Delay, and Reverb are all included in the Nord Piano 5 Effects section. For adding ambience to your sounds, the reverb effect comes in five different sizes: Booth, Room, Stage, Hall, and Cathedral. The treble can be lowered or increased using the Bright and Dark modes. There is a rich modulation effect added by the new Chorale option.
