An affordable semi-hollow guitar with considerable rock potential is the Gretsch G2622T Streamliner Center Block with Bigsby! The G2622T Streamliner is incredibly versatile and playable thanks to its center-block, semi-hollow design, and high-output Broad’Tron BT-2S humbuckers.

Center Block 

This is the double cut version of Gretsch’s “Center Block” body, which combines a chambered spruce center block with a laminated maple hollow body to reduce unwanted feedback while retaining some of the tonal characteristics of hollow bodies. The hollow portions of a center block guitar allow for a richer, more resonant tone while still allowing you to crank up the volume and rock out. 

The guitar’s neck is easy to play because of a few factors. The thin “U” profile neck features rounded shoulders, which are wonderful for playing chords and wrapping your thumb around the neck, it is less heavy than a conventional “U” shape neck due to the profile’s thinner thickness.

Electronics and Hardware 

Gretsch’s Broad’Tron BT-2S humbuckers, created especially for the Streamliner Collection, are installed in this guitar. These pickups have a high output, outstanding low-mid and high-end response, and plenty of high-frequency clarity that harmonizes well with the body’s inherent warmth. The Broad’Tron BT-2S pickups work well for everything from strong rock tones to vintage country tones. 

Another enduring Gretsch characteristic on this instrument is the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece. The Bigsby not only has a great appearance, but it also enables you to add some minor pitch changing to your playing.
