The Mackie EM-CHROMIUM is a studio-grade desktop mic which has a built in audio interface and mixer allowing you to plug in instruments like electrics guitars and make recordings without any fuss. It combines a premium Onyx-equipped large-diaphragm condenser microphone with a 1/4″ input and hands-on mixer. The Chromium makes it easy to record at home and also includes recording software and plugins to ensure you have all the things you need to make a great production. As well as home recording, the Chromium is suitable for YouTube, Twitch and Discord channels with easy to use tactile control so that you can concentrate on producing content.
Four switchable polar patterns give you flexible recoding options so that you can capture sound from different angles around the mic depending on the situation. For vocals you might switch the pattern to “Cardioid” to capture sound directly in front of the mic but for an acoustic guitar you would probably use the “Stereo” pattern to capture a wider sound.
Plug in an instrument with a standard 1/4″ jack and you’ve got a simple way to record instruments like guitar and keyboard at home. You can also connect a phone or tablet with an 1/8″ output for sharing music or playing along to backing tracks.
The EM-Chromium is plug-and-play with no need to install drivers to work with your PC or Mac. Plug your headphones directly into the mic and control the volume directly on the unit for convenience.
The Mackie EM-Chromium comes with Waveform OEM recording software. Waveform OEM is a multi award-winning workstation, featuring powerful and creative tools to inspire the modern musician. Unlike typical ‘Lite’ versions, it does not impose any restrictions – you get a full version with unlimited track count. Waveform OEM works with Windows, Mac and Linux.
