Mackie EM-CARBON USB Condenser Microphone
The Mackie EM-CARBON Microphone has been engineered for recording music, podcasts and live streams with the flexibility to tackle all of these challenges thanks to its selectable polar patterns. The legendary Onyx PreAmp built in to the Mackie Carbon ensures crystal clear sound with ultra low background noise.
The team at Mackie have made the Carbon easy to use, simply plug in to your computer with no drivers or installation requires. The mic has the controls you need right on the body of the mic so that you can control the microphone gain, mute the mic as well as an onboard headphone output and volume control for monitoring your recordings.
The Carbon has 5 selectable polar patterns which mean that you can change what sound is captured from around the microphone so for example if you are recording a vocal you might set the polar pattern to “Cardioid” which will capture the sound directly in front of the microphone. If you wanted to record an acoustic guitar you might choose the “Stereo” pattern so that you capture the sound from the left and right of the microphone.
With the Mackie EM-CARBON you can choose the polar pattern to suit your situation from Stereo, Cardioid, Bi-directional (Figure 8), Super-cardioid and Omnidirectional
The Carbon also includes software for recording. The Waveform&trade OEM professional software and plugin package has everything you need to record including the DAW Essentials&trade Bundle of 16 powerful plugins like Equaliser, Compressor, Reverber8, and Limiter.
